Mirny

Transport connectivity in the territory of Mirny as well as linkage to the regional centre (Arkhangelsk) and nearest district centre of Arkhangelsk Region (Plesetsk) is performed by roads.
The street and road system of the city consists of primary streets and roads, local streets and roads, lanes.
The total length of public motorways in municipal ownership of Mirny is 18.6 km, including those with asphaltic concrete surface (17.25 km).

Railway services are performed exclusively for the purposes and needs of the city-forming enterprise – the First State Testing Cosmodrome Plesetsk.
The city of Mirny is located 200 km south of Arkhangelsk by railway and 8.5 km of the railway station Plesetskaya of the Northern Railroad on the distance Vologda – Arkhangelsk located in the district centre Plesetsk.

In 1993, pursuant to the Act of the Russian Federation “On closed administrative territorial entity” (No. 3297-1 of 14 July 1992), Mirny was categorized as a closed administrative territorial entity.
Lands of the municipality are in federal possession and being used by the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation in order to carry out research tasks and practical concerns for the improvement of defence capabilities of the country.
The municipality does not possess its own water, forest, land and other resources.
