Governor of Arkhangelsk Region and Head of North-West Power Supply Grid Company discussed power supply reliability
On 14 February, at the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi, Governor of the Arkhangelsk Region Igor Orlov and General Director of PAO North-West Power Supply Grid Company Artyom Pidnik discussed development of the region’s power grid infrastructure and introduction of sound tariff policies allowing adopting smart technologies to manage the networks within the framework of the Digital Transformation-2030 concept.
Igor Orlov noted the importance of implementing the project of the renovation of the 110 kV Substation No. 7 in Arkhangelsk, which is planned to be completed in 2019 by PAO North-West Power Supply Grid Company (a part of PAO ROSSETI (Russian Networks) group of companies).
Substation No. 7 is a hub to the regional electricity grid interconnection since generating capacities of one Arkhangelsk and two Severodvinsk heat and power plants connect there. This modernization will ensure reliable power supply and new capacity for adding energy to the grid not only for the residents of Isakogorsky District of Arkhangelsk and Primorsky District of the Arkhangelsk Region industrial enterprises, but also for the facilities of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation and the Northern Railway. The total cost of the project is 241 million roubles.
The parties discussed the efforts to consolidate power grid facilities, in particular conducting joint inspections together with municipal authorities to identify derelict power grid facilities as well as consideration of ways to repay debt of regional state institutions to the ArhEnergo subsidiary.
We should like to remind that in December 2018 the Government of the Arkhangelsk Region and PAO North-West Power Supply Grid Company concluded a cooperation agreement. This document envisages the possibility of establishment of a one-stop centre liable for the quality of services provided by PAO North-West Power Supply Grid Company on power transmission and distribution within the territory of the region.
