Pomorie is among 20 breakthrough regions of Russia
The Arkhangelsk Region is now included into the group of twenty Russian regions committed an investment breakthrough in 2019. This was stated in the newspaper Izvestia referring to the seventh annual rating of investment attractiveness of the regions by the National Rating Agency (NRA).
Today, half of Russian regions are facing the decline in investment activity, stated in the NRA’s rating examined by the Izvestia. "Investments increased in 43 regions, while in 42 regions decrease in investment activity has been recorded", noted by the analysts.
Most of the regions in Russia managed to retain their position in the ranking, but also there are some significant improvements of the performance indicators. "To move to the higher groups, the growth must be ground-breaking – and this result was reached in 2019 by 20 regions with increased ratings", underlined the experts of NRA.
Based on 2019 results, the agency upgraded the rating of Arkhangelsk, Kaliningrad, Murmansk, Kursk, Astrakhan, Chelyabinsk, Vologda, Novgorod, Ryazan, Tver, Kemerovo, Pskov and Ivanovo regions, the krais of Perm, Kamchatka and Transbaikal, the republics of Udmurtia, Chechnya and Mari El, and the city of Sevastopol.
We would like to remind that the Governor of the Arkhangelsk Region while introducing his report on the work of the regional government to the regional parliament noted that investments in the regional economy, scheduled between 2012 and 2019, are estimated at some RUB 730 billion. Only within the framework of 9 priority investment projects already implemented, the investments exceeded 36 billion roubles. One result of the implementation of these investment projects is the creation of 4304 jobs.
In 2019, investments into the economy of the region are estimated at some RUB 47 billion.
"Together with our regional MPs we improve the regional legislation in the sphere of investment activity and preferential tax regime for potential investors", said Mr Igor Orlov, the Governor of the Arkhangelsk Region, "The infrastructure created for the implementation of investment projects has demonstrated its effectiveness."
The growth of the regional budget may be considered the consequence of the growth of investments, thus, the income tax revenues collection and taxes from small businesses grew more quickly than the income sources in general. At the year 2019 end, income tax exceeded the level attained in 2018 by 1.7 billion roubles (9%).
